One thing I'm very interested is work on improving the professional climate around me as I move through my professional career. I'm also excited about talking to more students about science, particularly students who might not have highly educated families or have never seen a scientist that looked like them.
I'm a member of DPS's Professional Culture and Climate Subcommittee where I work with other planetary scientists on issues impacting the field through discussion and recommendation to DPS leadership. In undergrad, I was on the departmental curriculum committee where I represented student issues and pushed for equitable changes to courses and material. I've done a number of presentations to elementary and middle school classrooms and am excited to take on more projects once the covid crisis is over.
